The Kindness Campaign is embarking on a new project to keep track of where its Kindness buttons go after you pass them on. The Kindness button has our motto on it: “Spread Kindness---Its Contagious.” Aren’t you curious about what happens to your button after you pass it on? Where does it go? To whom and under what circumstances does the person you gave your button to pass in on?
We have devised a way for you to stay in touch with your button and see where it goes and what each person did to receive the button. How are you going to be able to do this? Well, if everybody cooperates, it should be easy. We numbered each button on the back with printed instructions to go to our web site at www.thekindnesscampaign.org and type a message about the circumstances involved in how you received your button and about how you passed on your button. It will be easy to identify your button. You will be able to enter your information about your numbered button indicating when and where you received it and when and where you passed it on. You will need to remember your button number in order to keep track of it. This should be fun and interesting to see how far your button travels and what stories people tell about how they received your button.
If you remember the movie, “Pay It Forward,” a similar process happened as each person was asked to do a act of kindness for three other people and then each of them did the same. The film showed how far this process went and how it affected a large percentage of people in unbelievable ways. With our process we can see how one Kindness button being passed on could reach thousands of people and travel all over the world.
We will be highlighting buttons each week on the web site that had the most traffic. There truly is a Kindness Revolution happening in this country and you can be part of it. Each act of kindness that is identified though this tracking system will give you feedback on how your one act of kindness or your recognition of someone else’s act of kindness helped start a revolution of people doing and getting recognized for doing kind acts.
What we know is that what you focus on you will attract into your life. The more on focus on doing kind acts and recognizing the kind acts of others, the more kindness you will attract to you. Are you ready to receive more kindness in your life? Then just follow the instructions on the back of your button and keep the process going. Please remember to enter the information on your button by number when you receive it and when you pass it on. If you forget to send in the information requested, you may be blocking the flow of the Kindness Revolution.
If you don’t have access to a computer and still want to participate, go to your nearest library and ask a librarian to help you. Almost all libraries have an Internet connection and can assist you in sending your information on to us.
